Jaye Roycraft has had what can only be called a twisted career path. She's been a school teacher, a computer systems analyst, and, at age 41, became a big city police officer. Jaye spent seven years with the Milwaukeee Police Department, including a stint with the elite Street Crimes Unit. Since then, Jaye has switched careers again and now works in the slightly less dangerous world of commercial insurance.

Jaye has been an avid reader of many different genres for years, so when she started writing, it seemed natural to combine her favorites. Her debut novel, RAINSCAPE, a science fiction romance, was followed by the Image series, all released by ImaJinn Books. DOUBLE IMAGE, AFTERIMAGE, SHADOW IMAGE, and IMMORTAL IMAGE all combine vampire romance with mystery and suspense. But whatever the genre, Jaye's favorite characters are sure to be cops or ex-cops.

Jaye is currently working on MOON DANCE, a vampire novella which will be part of the Storyteller anthologies to be released by ImaJinn in 2004.

Jaye is currently a member of the Jewels of the Quill author group. She has also been a member of RWA, WisRWA, and EPIC, and has been a contest judge, given workshops on how to create believable cop characters, and in 2003 was a guest panelist as Dragon*Con. She lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
