Janet Squires is an award-winning author who began her career writing short stories and nonfiction articles for several regional and national magazines. She writes both fiction and nonfiction for adults and children. She teaches writing workshops and works part time as a library media specialist. She’s a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and Women Writing the West (WWW). Her interest in the historic West stems from the stories she heard growing up. Her family pioneered their way through Texas, New Mexico and Arizona as ranchers, miners, and lawmen. Her favorite activity is any one that involves horses. She and her husband share their home with an assortment of rescue dogs.
